Valentine Chocolate Chip Cookies

Valentine Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temp, soft)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag Dove milk chocolate hearts
  • Valentine sprinkles
Instructions
  1. 1

In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt & cornstarch. Whisk it together. Set aside.

  2. 2

In your mixer bowl, combine butter & sugars. Mix on medium speed for a few minutes until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, until each have been combined. Add vanilla. Beat mixture until smooth.

  3. 3

Turn mixer to low and begin to add flour mixture, about a half cup at a time, beating after each addition until it is all combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

  4. 4

Refrigerate dough for at least an hour.

  5. 5

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  6. 6

Scoop about a tablespoon of cookie dough into your palms and roll into a ball. Dip tops of cookie in sprinkles. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

  7. 7

After you remove cookies from oven, while they are still warm, place milk chocolate candy heart into the centers of each cookie. Let cookies cool for about a minute on the cookie sheet before moving to a wire rack to cool completely.

Note
  1. For speedy readiness: Stick the cookies into the freezer for a minute to firm up the milk chocolate heart centers!
