Lucky Charms Treats

Lucky Charms Treats

I have a secret {or not so secret} weakness for Rice Krispie Treats. I just cannot resist them. If they’re in the house, I’ve got them eat. There’s just something about all that gooey, sticky marshmallow butter flavor wrapped around crunchy rice cereal that I cannot deny!

So when I saw the idea of using Lucky Charms cereal instead of Rice Krispies… my mouth dropped open.  I HAD to make these!

Just LOOK at all that yummy marshmallow!

Lucky Charms Treats

The best thing? Super easy to make- just like the original Rice Krispie Treats, only 3 ingredients!

Difficulty: Beginner
Best Season: Spring

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish by lining it with parchment paper or spraying with cooking spray. Set aside.

  2. In a deep pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Then add marshmallows. Stir continuously with a big wooden spoon until all the marshmallows have lost shape and melted.

  3. Remove from heat and add cereal. Stir well to incorporate. Pour mixture into casserole dish. Use a spoon sprayed with cooking spray to press the mixture firmly down into the dish.

  4. Refrigerate treats for 15-30 minutes or until firm. Cut into squares and serve.

These were a huge hit with the kids. (and me) In fact, I probably ate more than they did! If you’re looking for a cool treat to send in with your kids for St. Patrick’s Day, this one is tops. Who doesn’t love Lucky Charms?
