Jessica The other day I texted my Mom for this recipe. I haven’t had this rice in YEARS, but I remember Mom making it with dinner when I was a kid and I never got enough! I always wanted seconds because it tasted so good!
The recipe originates from the recipe book that came with her microwave. The same microwave that she’s had since I was probably still in diapers. Yeah, its old. But it still works! {Wish they still made appliances the way they used to….Mine seem to fall to pieces every 5 years….}
Anyway- she still has the book and she still makes the rice…And now I’m keeping it in the family because I made it today to go with the Pork Tenderloin that Kris has on the smoker.
The more I think about it…the more I think I should go make another batch…you know…just in case I want seconds!
I used basic Saran Wrap and my 13 x 9 inch casserole dish to make this in the microwave {cause that’s how Mom does it}.. But I seem to be dysfunctional when it comes to Saran Wrap. I don’t know why, but I can NEVER, ever- get it to actually cling to anything. It seems to work just fine for everyone else, except me.
Maybe there’s a trick to it that I never learned. I dunno. Can you get Saran Wrap to work for you? What’s your trick?
